How It Works

Structured. Character-forming. Built for families.

PreptRight isn't a parental control app. It's a shared experience. Both parent and child have their own first-class view, and the curriculum connects them through lessons, milestones, and a contract they build together.

01Learn

78 lessons that meet teens where they are.

Every lesson takes about 5 minutes. Each one opens with a real scenario, not a lecture. Content is written in a character-formation voice that speaks to integrity, self-mastery, and dignity. It's universally accessible and naturally resonates with values-oriented and faith-based families.

15 courses. 3 levels. Designed to grow with the child from ages 12 through 16. The first 4 courses are free. No account, no credit card.

Every lesson follows 6 steps

01

Hook / Scenario

Opens with a real-world situation relevant to the topic. No preamble. Drop straight into the moment.

02

Core Content

Tap-to-reveal cards with the key concept explained in a character-formation voice. About 150–200 words.

03

Scenario Choice

An interactive scenario with 3–4 choices. Must answer to proceed. Wrong answers get coaching, not penalty.

04

Deeper Dive

Additional nuance: when to involve an adult, what research says, real consequences explained simply.

05

Reflection

A personal reflection prompt or commitment statement. Text input saved to profile. Optional parent visibility.

06

Completion

XP awarded. Badge progress updated. Parent notification triggered. Celebration animation.

02Earn

XP, badges, and levels that make learning visible.

Every lesson completed earns XP. Every course completed unlocks a badge. Badges aren't just decorations. They represent real commitments the child has made. The progression system gives kids a sense of ownership over their digital character.

Parents see the same progress in their dashboard. When a child earns a badge, it's a real milestone. One that creates a natural conversation.

03Commit

A family contract built through the curriculum.

Each course ends with a pledge, a personal commitment the child makes based on what they've learned. As they progress through PreptRight, those pledges accumulate into a family contract that both parent and child co-sign.

On the anniversary of the family's signup, both are prompted to review, renegotiate, and re-sign. The old contract is archived. The new one is dated. It's not a one-time conversation. It's an ongoing relationship.

Sample pledges from the contract

Course 01

I understand my phone is a privilege that reflects my character, and I will use it in a way I am proud of.

Course 03

I will never use my phone to hurt someone and I will stand up when I see someone else being hurt online.

Course 04

I will never use my phone while driving, and I will speak up if someone else does.

Two First-Class Experiences

This isn't a child app with a parent view bolted on.

Parent and child each have their own experience: different dashboards, different tones, both designed to be excellent.

👨‍👩‍👧

Parent Experience

  • Progress dashboard: see exactly where your child is
  • Conversation prompts generated by each lesson
  • Alert builder: set triggers for sensitive topics
  • Co-sign and customize the family contract
  • Send nudges to encourage lesson completion

Tone: informational, guiding, trusted advisor

🎮

Child Experience

  • Personal dashboard with XP bar, level, and streak

  • Pledges visible on their profile
  • Nudges from parent: encouraging, not surveillance

Pro Feature

The parent check-in system.

Every lesson generates conversation prompts for parents. The check-in dashboard surfaces these in a structured format, organized by topic, timed to when the child just completed a lesson.

💬

Conversation Guides

Lesson-specific prompts that give parents the words to start the conversation.

🔔

Alert Triggers

Set alerts for specific topics. Get notified when your child completes a sensitive lesson.
