PreptRight (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of every family that uses our service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using preptright.com or the PreptRight app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

PreptRight is a family education platform that helps parents and teens prepare for responsible smartphone ownership through structured curriculum and a family contract. We are based in the United States. Questions about this policy can be directed to hello@preptright.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide directly. When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. When you create an account (once the app launches), we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you choose to provide. Parents create and manage all family accounts. We do not allow children to create accounts independently.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage data such as pages visited, time spent, and device type. This is used to improve the site and is not sold to third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send waitlist updates and product announcements (email only, with your consent)
• Provide and improve the PreptRight curriculum and app experience
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

PreptRight is designed for families with children ages 10–17. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

All accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Child progress data within the app (such as completed lessons and quiz scores) is associated with the parent's account and accessible only to that family.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us immediately at hello@preptright.com and we will delete it promptly.

5. Email Communications

If you join our waitlist, we will send you occasional updates about PreptRight. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. We use Kit (kit.com) to manage our email list. Your email address is stored on their platform in accordance with their privacy policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the site and app (such as hosting, email, and analytics providers), but only as necessary to provide those services and under strict confidentiality agreements.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take the protection of your family's data seriously and continuously work to improve our security practices.

8. Your Choices

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at hello@preptright.com. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify waitlist members by email.
