Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using preptright.com or the PreptRight app (collectively, the “Service”) operated by PreptRight (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who May Use This Service

PreptRight is intended for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their families. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Children may use the Service only under the supervision of a parent or guardian who has accepted these Terms on their behalf. We do not permit children under 13 to create accounts independently.

2. Accounts

When you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@preptright.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. The Service

PreptRight provides a structured curriculum, family contract, and related tools designed to help families prepare teens for responsible smartphone ownership. The Service is offered in free and paid tiers. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features of PreptRight require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan). You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods. If a charge fails, we may suspend access to paid features until payment is resolved.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others outside your immediate family
  • Copy, distribute, or resell any part of the curriculum or content
  • Use the Service in any way that could harm other users or PreptRight

6. Intellectual Property

All content within the Service — including curriculum materials, lesson text, course structure, graphics, and the PreptRight name and logo — is owned by PreptRight and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the content for your own family's personal, non-commercial use only. Nothing in these Terms grants you the right to reproduce or distribute our content.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific outcome will result from using PreptRight. Parenting decisions remain yours — our curriculum is a tool to support those decisions, not a substitute for your own judgment.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PreptRight shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which PreptRight is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify users by email if changes are material. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
